Sadly, many WSBA members are unaware that as members they have free access to hundreds of titles through the WSBA Lending Library. Even sadder, many WSBA members think the Lending Library is just another repository for dusty tombs of legal text that weigh as much as a neutron star but are far less interesting. Happily, many WSBA members, in this regard, are wrong.
The Lending Library is brimming with fascinating titles, that while related to the law, delve into myriad areas that are—dare we say—also entertaining and informative. Not to knock a good deskbook, but the things you’ll find through the Lending Library go beyond law itself and explore everything it affects, whether that’s clients, communities, history, and even lawyers themselves.
Better news still: After the pandemic closed the library for more than a year-and-a-half, the Lending Library is open once again!
Members are welcome to check out books in person at the WSBA office in Seattle or via the virtual library. Now that we’re back in the library lending business, consider checking out some of these hidden gems for a celebratory read.
