The weather is cold, the days are short, and the holidays — and hopefully some vacation time — are just around the corner. Here’s a handy list of reminders. Get them done and you can turn your attention to celebrating and getting ready for the new year.
Complete your MCLE Credits
Are you part of MCLE reporting group 1 (admitted through 1975, 1991, 1994, 1997, 2000, 2003, 2006, 2009 and 2012)? If yes, you need to complete your MCLE Credit requirement by Dec. 31. You can check your MCLE record on myWSBA to see how many credits you still need. Short on credits? Check out our free Legal LunchBox Series CLE for December, which offers 1.25 AV credits, or one of our other CLE offerings.
On Jan. 1, 2014, APR 13(c) goes into effect, requiring all WSBA members to provide an email address. You can request that your email address be kept confidential when you provide it. Don’t have an email address? Gmail, Outlook.com, Yahoo! and many others offer free accounts.
License Renewal Deadline: Feb. 3, 2014
Is “Procrastinate less” on your New Year’s resolutions list? Why not get a jump start on your resolution and finish up your 2014 License Renewal? You can do it online quickly with myWSBA — I finished mine in a few minutes! Get more information about license renewals.
Brush up on the APR changes
Numerous changes to the Admission and Practice Rules go into effect in 2014. You can find summaries of the changes here and here, or you can read the amended rules.
Juggling it all — especially around the holidays — can be overwhelming and stressful. If you need support with a mental health or addiction issue, relationship issues, or finding child care, WSBA Connects and the WSBA Lawyers Assistance Program are available to all WSBA members.
