On Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012, the Washington State Bar Association presented me with the 2012 Professionalism Award. This honor is awarded to a WSBA member who exemplifies the spirit of professionalism in the practice of law.
I was truly humbled that the Bar Association chose to recognize me for its Professional Award and it was a pleasure to be nominated for the award by Othello attorney Toni Meacham. Because of this award, I have learned a lot about myself and about what my peers think about my work ethic, my ability to practice law and be their professional colleague.
I’ve always believed it is essential to give back to the community and to reach out to new attorneys as well as those who are considering law school. I believe it is incumbent upon all attorneys to observe the strictest ethical standards, and to give back to our profession by helping fellow lawyers do the same. I am proud to belong to a bar association that shares these beliefs.
It means a great deal to me to be recognized for my hard work and professionalism and it was an honor to have been chosen for the WSBA 2012 Professionalism Award.
Nominations are now being accepted for the 2013 WSBA Annual Awards. If you have someone you would like to nominate for the Professionalism Award or one of the other awards WSBA presents, you will find additional information, including the application form, on the WSBA website.
