WSBA President Michele Radosevich attends KABA’s annual banquet and the BOG Diversity Committee meeting.
Last week I attended the Korean-American Bar Association’sannual banquet. Steve Kim, a King County deputy prosecutor, keynoted the event, describing his adventures in Korea as a Visiting Scholar Prosecutor for the Ministry of Justice. It was a great reminder of how lucky we are to have jury trials and a legal system in which there are checks and balances on all of the decision-makers. It says something good about our system that it is being emulated in so many places around the globe.
I also attended a meeting of the BOG Diversity Committee, which is doing great work. The members are continuing to delve deeper into last year’s membership study and look at specific diversity groups within the membership. They are also looking at successful mentoring programs and trying to get this information out to minority and specialty bars, law schools, and others who might be interested in starting a mentorship program.
It’s hard to believe we’re already heading into March. As always, if you have any questions or input for me, please feel free to contact me at micheleradosevich@dwt.com.
